Something wrong with my hens eye

So the other day I noticed that my hen has one of her eyes closed. From what I could see it doesn't look weepy or anything, just closed. I tried to get my horse vet to look at it when she was here but she said no way she doesn't do birds. Besides I don't think we could have wrangled her anyway. So do I just let her be? She's a pretty big BBW who is sitting on her eggs (even though I don't know if they are fertile, she was collecting my chicken eggs too).

I would try to take a close look at it when she gets off the nest, if you try to do it when she is on the nest you will probably end up with a bunch of broken eggs.

Ok I managed to look at it, there is nothing apparently wrong with the eye itself, it was "stuck" closed but had no real gunk on it. I managed to get a warm compress on it and open it up. That was a lot of fun...not. She was not happy with me. The outside of the eye is red. So I don't know, do birds get conjuctivitus like a human? I didn't get to see her this morning before going to work but will check on her tonight.

Maybe another bird pecked her eye? Hopefully just getting it open again will do the trick
