I had tried something very similar. Initially it seemed not to be a problem but I happened to stay and watch and after about 1/2 hour she started slinging the little ones around by any body part that she grabbed first.

Am glad though that I've read the thread and read the post to try and sneak them in at night. I'm sure through time another situation will present itself.

Thanks everyone....

I do believe sneaking them in at night would work... but i'll never try that again if she has other week old chicks...

I think she is a very good momma and i don't think she whould have hurt her own chicks.
