I have been given a coop that needs some repair.

As soon as I have the coop fixed up, I will be given some birds from a neighbor that doesn't want to deal with them anymore. I'm inheriting 1 Barred Rock Roo, "Rocky" and 5 Rhode Island Red girls. They are all about 2.5 years old.

Their egg production has started to wane a bit, so I will be looking to add to my flock at some point in the future.

Anyway, I was looking for a forum to search / lurk for answers to all my noob questions.

I am a member of the BYC Facebook group as well as Scott's Backyard Chickens. Have been for several years..just finally moving forward to getting birds.

Welcome to BYC!

I'd recommend spending some time in the Learning Center. If you have any specific questions along the way that you can't answer with a quick search, just post it in the appropriate subforum and you'll get plenty of help.

One thought- Integrating adult chickens can be a challenge. You might want to consider letting your girls hatch the next generation.
