Hi all, I already made a post in the new member thread a while ago, "Curious with lots of questions", but overlooked the new member questions, so here they are:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, totally new to chickens, I am getting three 16 week old Red Sex Link pullets from the local Agway on August 24.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0
(3) What breeds do you have? Getting Red Sex Links
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Googling Chickens!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Motorcycling, ceramics.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. My boyfriend and I live within a mile of downtown in the biggest city in New Hampshire (Manchester, population 110,000) He loves gardening and cooking, and we have a pretty large enclosed yard. We recycle and compost, and thought chickens would fit into that cycle nicely
We have no pets, and never have. We don't plan to raise them for meat, but rather for eggs, eating our kitchen scraps (mostly fruit and vegetable), eating bugs, and giving us their poop. Besides having a rather large run area (about 12' x 18') we want to let them "free range" our yard when we are outside and supervising.
