So this is going to be charcoals first baby (wish her luck) she’s been broody for quite a while now and I already have chicks but I felt bad that charcoal didn’t get any, so I took one of my houdans eggs and put it under her it’s about 1 week in!!! U can see the veins in it!!!!!!!! p.s if u look at the back of the photo you will see Donald that’s who laid the egg charcoal has.!

update: charcoals baby is developing great about 11 days in

Sad news: poor charcoals baby died
(It died in the shell not a fully formed chick hatched and then died) this is sad but these things happen even though it’s terrible
I was hoping this would be a happy post but things always have to go wrong sadly

Yea I know I felt really bad for poor charcoal but I thinks she knew because she wouldn’t sit in the egg and kept pushing it out (I’ll have to give her some extra treats.)
