Hello all! My family and I (my husband, daughter+son, three legged dog+2 kitties) are about to embark on an adventure into chicken owner/loverdom. We live in Austin, Texas. No coop just yet, but looking for ideas about enclosures as well as breed suggestions. Bawk on the street is [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]that our best, most reliable chicken breed is going to be a [/FONT]Cochin bantams. What do you think?

Bantam ANYTHINGs are adorable, and the bantam version of Cochins retains all the attributes of the LF Cochin in a nice, compact package.

I just love seeing them scoot around the yard in their bedroom slippers... Errr, feathered feet.
