Soon to be new Chicken owner

Hi! We are looking to add a few chickens to our "family". Where is the best to buy new chicks? Also, we live where coyotes are seen on a daily basis. How best to build a coyote-proof enclosure? I am looking at Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex, Australorp or Favaucana. I'd like one that is very people friendly and a good layer, good in a cold climate in winter, hot in summer - beauty is a plus. Thanks for any info!

The best place for me to buy my chicks is my local feed store. And the breeds I would recommend would be Australorps and and Black Sex Links. That's all the info I have for you!
