Hey all! I am in the process of building our chicken coop, and waiting on our pullet chickens to get here! We are very excited, and are eager to get everything done so we can start enjoying all the benefits of owning chickens. Any advice for a new owner will be very helpful. I look forward to getting to know ya'll. Have a fantastic day!!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our community! Looks like Mountain Peeps has left you with some great links to follow. Definitely stop by the learning center. Lots of good articles on all the aspects of keeping poultry.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Mountain Peeps gave you some good links to check out, good luck with your new flock!

Welcome to BYC! Just make sure that you build your coop so that it's predator proof. Use hardware cloth instead of chicken wire as there are too many predators that can either tear though chicken wire or pass through the openings in the mesh. What kind of pullets are you getting?

Don't skimp on the coop and run . Happy chickens are safe , have dry bedding and have plenty of room!
I had a carpenter build my new coop and run....the first was too small and a cheapie!
