yes, the anatomy between male and female dogs is quite a bit different 'down there.' that is her 'pee pee' for lack of better term...she may lift one leg a bit when she pees, but she will always squat, while a male, when older would lift a leg.

The "thing" hanging down is her lady parts that is pretty much the same as ours but where ours is internal sort of (inside skin folds) her's is now. I tired to google some pictures from you but I am at work so don't really want to get caught looking at doggy parts online

my mom had a female doxie that would squat with one hind leg and stick the other one out like she was a Rockette. It was bizarre looking. LOL
