soooo anyways....

I feed mine whole, raw eggs all the time, chicken and turkey ... shell and all. The shell won't hurt them. Might upset their tummies though if they are sensitive, but I would not worry about the shells. The calcium is good for them anyway.

Yep, Duck egg.

lol how did she crack open a duck egg. they are hard to crack lol.

Do you make your own dogfood? I wanted to try that but raw chicken grosses me out lol. hmm didn't know dogs liked raw eggs lol.

I don't right now because meat is so high and my paycheck is so low

I really want to go back to it when I can. I have bantams and rabbits and want to get quail to help feed the dogs, but have no reasonable way to raise red meat for them and it just costs too much. And all of my current dogs LOVE raw eggs. My Jenna would never touch them ... or anything they had touched

She was a VERY picky eater. Sometimes it takes some of them a little while to get used to eating things (like liver, which has a weird texture, but all of mine who were hesitant at first learned to love it). Dogs with sensitive tummies sometimes have to be started slowly and with one ingredient at a time. Then you know if they cannot tolerate something and can avoid it in their diet.

I love the raw diet. When I can afford to go raw, I feed prey model and use as many whole animals and whole foods as possible while avoiding grains. The more natural, the better

I don't, because I don't believe they are necessary. But, other than corn which is too high in starch, I don't think veggies hurt them any if the like them. I believe that they are more of a filler though because dogs are not designed to digest them.

When I first started raw I used to puree a variety of veggies and mix the slop in with ground meat, but after more research, I was persuaded that they were unnecessary and just extra work since the hounds didn't like them anyway

Opinions on this vary.

I thought it worth mentioning that if you give fruits (I used to in my veggie slop) to avoid grapes. They can cause fatal kidney failure in some dogs. You may already know this, but I always feel it is worth mentioning

I don't think I have given my dog any fruits, he just likes veggies for treats lol. when he was a puppy he used to eat chocolate, and was fine. We don't give him any chcocolate, except careb (sp?), the chcocolate that is safe for dogs to eat.

lol just gave my dog a pice of watermelon, and he liked it.
