This is my house pet and only chicken Thelma 6 years old. She roams the backyard during the day and sleeps inside at night.
I do not have any access to a poultry vet.
Five days ago I noticed some white specks and skin irritation around the base of her comb. Reading what I could, I purchased some miconazole nitrate 2% anti-fungal cream and have been applying it twice a day.
The skin is much improved with very few white specks. Today her comb on one side has this sooty smear. It is not like a sore like some photos but more like someone smeared ink on her comb. Is there anything I can do for this ?
She is going through a molt. Eating, drinking, running around the yard looking for bugs - all aspects of her life are normal.
