16 month old Buff Orpington, female. Seems in good spirits, active, laying and healthy appetite (she probably eats the most). Last of 4 in pecking order.

Noticed this spot on her back end, below vent by 2" or so. Some feathers missing around it too. She has been pecked on the head before, feathers missing but no blood drawn. Could she have been pecked on the butt? I haven't noticed any larger feathers around.

The spot seems self-contained with no infection around it. It appears a few days old, no fresh blood. Should I put something on it? Thanks.

If it's only a small spot and the rest of the flock isn't bothering her, it should be fine to leave her to her own devices. It will likely heal up on its own. However, if you really want to put something on it, you could always use BlueKote. It's a blue-colored spray that helps prevent pecking and treats minor skin wounds. Just make sure not to spray her in the vent if you decide to use it.
