Sore on Toe

Can anyone tell me what this is and how to help her?

I put her in straw 2 days ago..could it be a splinter from the straw?

Could she have gotten her toe caught in something like wire? The fact that the cut seems to be encircling her toe is unusual.

I'd clean the wound and apply antibiotic ointment (without pain reliever) or use a wound healing spray like Vetericyn to facilitate healing.
