Hi and welcome! I'm old too and BYC is my only social media. You are not assigned to a Hatching group. "Hatching" just lets us know you're new to BYC. As you're here longer that word will change. After a while it may say something like "chirping" or "in the brooder," etc. Old-timers may say something like crowing. Jump right in, we're happy to have you!

You are certainly not too old, and there are few people less adept at social media than I am. Stick with it -- you are among friends. I once was having computer issues and accidentally posted the same frantic request for help about two dozen times. Everyone was incredibly nice about my social media blunder AND helped me with my injured bird, too. WELCOME!!

WELCOME TO BYC. I used to be very comfortable on a typewriter. A computer is a whole different story. If you keep going it gets easier.11 years on BYC and still can't post photos. But that's okay because my cameras are from 1980 and don't work anymore
