Nova, my 14.2hh cob mare is sound today for the first time in nearly 6 months.
Those of you out there with equine friends will understand what a big deal it is - The thought that I might be able to ride her for another year, and that I may not have to put her down....

Wow - that is a big deal! Six months is a long time to be lame... and to become sound again! Congrats on having more time to spend with Nova! She's beautiful.

Thank you all!!!!

Nova blew a tendon on the off hind 3 years ago, which was treated and she came sound. At least sound enough to ride but not to compete any more. From then on, every day that I have been able to rider her has been a gift and much appreciated!!!!
She also has DJD in both hind fetlocks (Degenerative Joint Disease)
And this year in April she did the tendon on the near hind!!!!!

So she has been on box rest and mostly unridden all summer.

The fact remains that if the animal is not comfortable enough to mooch around in the fiels and do horse things then there is only one decision that can be made

But YESTERDAY SHE WAS SOUND!!!!!

mylittlezoo: Hope you have the same good luck
