Ok so this is not a silke it is a guinea keet but please don't say put it on the other board! I assume since it has a crop just like a chicken it can be helped just like a chicken.

) What type of bird , age and weight. Guinea Keet 4 weeks
2) What is the behavior, exactly. puffed up not eating or drinking squishy crop that will drain some when force is applied
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? going on 30 hours
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? no
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. no
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. not sure
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. medicated started water with ACV, and whatever tid bits she gets from the ground.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. runny
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? I have managed to push some of the stuff out last night it was all liquid this morning it was a bit thicker. I have forced ACV, and olive oil down with a syringe just tiny bits 2 times a day. Her crop keep swelling back up.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? IHave to treat myself hopefully with you guys help
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. Wont help to see a puffed up guinea
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use when I noticed she was out in the grow out pen with other guineas and 5 silkies. Now she is in the brooder with a heat lamp, both have shaving as bedding.

My thing is I can push some of the stuff out but not nearly enough. I am tilting her upside down and applying pressure from the bottom up. I can hear the gurgling sounds as I push. I am guessing 15 drops or so at a time. I would be able to get more but she will tilt her head back up a swallow the mess. I have began to hold her little head between my 2 fingers to prevent her from tilting back up. But just can not get more than this out at any given time. I message her crop every few hours or so. This is my second day of the treatment I have described above and last night I was hoping for her not to swell back up, but she did this morning. What am I doing wrong? I did force some yougart down last night as well. Oh and it is coming from both ends when I push. Is there anything else I can do? Not that I have invested a lot in the guineas but I just hate to see this little one in such obvious discomfort. I just want to help her fell better.

Thanks for looking!

Does the stuff you are forcing from her crop smell??

What made you think she has a sour crop to begin with?

Could she just have had a large crop stuffed with food/water?

What happens if you put her by herself and do not feed for 12 hours (overnight) - in the morning how is the crop? Have you offered any grit?

She passed yesterday at 3. No it was not from being full, she was not eating or drinking on her own, she was puffed up and her crop felt like a water balloon, not hard like it had food in it. It had to have been sour crop.
Thanks anyway.

I am so sorry
