I think my 2 year old calico princess may have sour crop.. she has lost weight, isn’t really eating much.. drinks some.. lethargic. Last night she had liquid come out of her mouth. And was hardly moving. Surprisingly she survived the night and after doing a lot of googling, I think it may be sour crop. Is she too far gone to try and fix?? Do I do the ACV/water or do I try monistat? Please help. I’m not home at moment so not sure how her mouth smells, I did not think to smell it last night.

weve had sour crop several times and none of them made it sadly. If it is sour crop, assuming she has a large crop, the root cause is normally something blocking her digestive system. try massaging the crop slowly near the base. You dont want her to throw up, but you need to try and massage to unblock it, the only other option is literal surgery. Try contacting your states poultry specialist, they should have more advice hopefully. best of luck.

My first ever hen with sour crop survived. I caught her early though. With how far gone yours is, it could possibly be too late.

Massaging her crop would be a good idea. Try getting her to eat some unflavored Greek Yogurt.
