Sour Crop

I had two cases of sour crop with 2 squabs from the same clutch. I tried messaging and forcing the food out of them and flushing the crop with baking soda and water. I used a syringe with a small piece of tubing attached.

Long story short I lost both squabs.

I may have had better luck if I had detected it earlier. They were fully feathered and on the floor of the loft and beginning to peck on their own.
 
I'm sorry to hear this Coco. Years ago when I was showing in 4H we had a runt squab wonder out of the nest (are runts always nested on the floor) Into the nest of an aggressive Indian fantail nest and scalped the squab down to the bone. We took him and hand raised because he required a lot of medical attention and if I remember right his parents would not take him back. He had just healed up and was looking great a few weeks later when developed cankers or sour crop as they say and died. At the time I had no idea what had happened to him or why.
