South Africa
I've met many SAers that have moved to all over the place.
This thread is dedicated to SAers all around world.

Welcome and Greetings!

Hi everyone. I am living in SC but originally from KwaZulu-Natal. I lived in East London for about 8 years just before I moved out to the USA. I REALLY miss SA - been about 7 years since I could last afford to visit. I have a sister-in-law and three nieces and nephews that I haven't met yet.... sigh. Am hoping to move back to Colorado (lived there for about 7 years before SC and I MUCH prefer the climate and the lower bug population! SO where are you?

I was born and raised here in Minnesota, but I lived in Bronkhorstspruit (halfway between Witbank and Pretoria) for two years. I really miss it! The climate there was so ideal! Rains in the summer evenings, and some of the best thunderstorms I've seen in my life!!!!
Cheers to all the South Africans!!!!

Lifetime Chicken lover, greetings!

Hi I'm from Mpumalanga, (East Transvaal). My sister moved to FL last year and has returned about a week ago.
She said America alot diffrent from SA and had diffrent ways, etc..

Just to ask, Godiva how are the roads there?

Hiya

I was born in Cape Town, SA. I spent a few years in a boarding school up in the Transvaal but always preferred the Cape. Maybe it's Table Mountain that is just so special for me and all the beautiful beaches. Anyway, went to London for what was meant to be a year of traveling but then ended up on the North Sea oil rigs. Did that for ten years, during which time I visited Southeast Asia. I fell in love with Thailand and eventually moved to the country with my wife (Thai)1n 2002. So, been married for ten years now and we have two kids, with a third one due in two weeks.

Only have a sister and some distant family left in SA now, so not all that much reason for me to return, and besides, I can't really afford the airfare with so many mouths to feed.

Feel free to stay in touch

Hey there fellow South Africans. Nice to meet you Tropicalchook! It is amazing how much us South Africans are spread all over the world! One of my brothers lives with his family in Taiwan, I live in the USA and my two other brothers live in SA still. It is over 7 years since I was last in SA. I have two nieces and a nephew I have never met and I have also never met my sister-in-law! THose airfares are just too pricey especially when you are flying a whole family! I found a potjie here last year and we have had some wonderful potjiekos! Boy that is such a wonderful flavour and smell! I closed my eyes and I was back in SA. I have managed to make biltong in my dehydrator and the only problem is that it never lasts very long!

Well, turns out we are going to try and move back to Colorado... no work here for DH. We have found a home for our large flock but the bantams still need a home. That is the worst thing with moving... finding homes for chickens. I really hope we find a place that will be chicken friendly. Now we just need our property to sell - soon!
