African goose has never laid an egg.

I have an African goose that is a little over a year old now and I have yet to see her lay an egg. I would chock it up to her being a gander but we also have a gander (they hate each other for some reason) and the difference in sex is very apparent. From what I've read they usually start laying around 8-9 months? Is she just a very late bloomer?
