I'll be staying at the Days Inn Columbia 7128 Parklane Rd. Is anyone near enough to get me the coordinates from there so I can locate some Geocaches while I'm there???

LOL I will!! IF I can get some better coordinates than I am. I'm looking them up through the address of the Inn and not finding much.

I used google earth to get the coordinates. I don't know if they are accurate enough. We took a couple of travel bugs on our vacation with us. They went from Texas to Maine.

I love google earth. It is so much fun to snoop around on. Good Luck and have fun at the graduation!

Thank you!! I never thought of google earth and I just downloaded 10 caches within walking distance of the Inn!

Shelley go to Geocaching.com and look around. It's hiding treasure troves all over the world and then finding them with a GPS, hand held, and either trading goodies or just signing a log. Most of what I'll be doing is signing logs because I can't transport a lot of caching goodies and it's too late for me to pick up some of the BYC cards darn it!!! I should have thought of that earlier!

Way cool site. I just registered. There are ten places in my zip code I'm going to search for.

it's like going on a treasure hunt and when you find the treasure trove you take the lil treasure out and replace it with another lil treasure for the next person.

writer... you're a teacher... you should have some pencil eraser tops handy.

In my own opinion it is the best outdoors and sometimes indoors, activity you can do with the whole family or on your own. With an inexpensive hand held GPS you can teach your kids how to locate them, how to CITO (cache in trash out), take care of the land, find beautiful places you might not otherwise ever think of going! It also teaches kids and adults alike how to use a GPS and possible save their own lives if they ever become lost and have one on them. I carry mine whenever I hike or drive anywhere, just in case!
