Sounds like Keokuk to me! We are in Argyle. Just got a new batch of a variety of baby chicks in the mail. They're 8 days old today. Also have 4 laying hens. Nice to meet you.

Well, we're kinda new to the area- moved here in 2012 from WI. We started our first flock of chickens in 2014... just 7. Got chicks at the swap up in Burlington. Turned out 2 were roos. anyway, there are 4 hens left from that so we ordered 15 from Cackle Hatchery and got 16. I'm documenting their growth day-by-day on youtube. One we thought for sure wouldn't make it- a speckled sussex. She made it through and is getting stronger everyday. We ordered all pullets and one BO roo, but not sure what the extra will turn out to be.

Our goals were to have friendly birds, good with the kids, colorful & unusual eggs, and all hens/1 roo.

Would love to meet others in this area. It's great to network.
