Southern chickens and snow

Well mine won’t even get out of there pajamas much less come out of the coop

I totally have to show this to DH. He already thinks I'm chicken crazy....

True... I made my teenage daughter and her 2 friends (both boys) shovel a pathway to the water for all the animals...

I also remembered that I had a homemade heated base that I made from a cookie tin and lightbulb. I put it in the coop with a small 3 gallon waterer. Fingers crossed that it will do the job.

Well that's not fair! LOL (I don't have anyone to "make" do things. It is me or nothing!

My youngest is 16. Pretty soon I won't have anyone either... It will be just DH and me. If I asked DH, he'd probably roll his eyes and ask why they can't just hop or fly over there. He helps me with the horses, garden, etc and he helped build my new coop but he really doesn't understand why my girls are so special to me. He thinks I go overboard in spoiling them.... Like bringing them some warm oatmeal this afternoon.

I shovel even if it's snowing, just so they have the opportunity to go out and drink or scratch around, if they want.

For the chickens, do you happen to have flock blocks on hand? This is when I'd want to use them, to give them something to busy themselves with indoors.

I shoveled mine a maze, the ducks made 2 of their own paths tho
