Is there any difference between Southern States Layer and Purina Layena. I tried the Countryside Organics and thought things would be fabulous. They didnt like the peas or the meal consistency. They dont really even like the scratch I got from them. It actually had alot of powder in it. The people were great though and I think the ingredients sounded ideal if they could only extrude a crumble. Switched by to Purina and they eat it better. Things are still not fabulous in the egg laying department. Could be because they will be 2 yrs old May 8 and are red sex linked hybrids. Average 2 eggs a day from 5 birds. Lots of soft or shelless eggs. They get free choice oyster shell and their treats mostly consist of various fresh greens and leftover vegies. If SS is the same as Purina is it possible that it could be fresher? Does it come from various local mills?
