Fuquay Varina is our town, our last name is Sox, we live on .93 acres & have 14 chickens. 4 isa browns, 3 golden comets, 2 golden wyandottes, 2 cuckoo marans and 2 dominiques. My chicken wish list is: cream legbar, barnevelder, easter egger, fayoumi, campine, araucana, apanzeller, croad langshan, and a penedesenca. Maybe a welsummer too.
We got three golden comets to start with a couple of years ago, and they were our girls <3. They passed away a few months back with diarrhea, and I am guessing was coccidia. We have been using a medicated chick starter with this batch and have bleached out the old coop, and had it sitting out in the sun and open to the breeze ever since the last one was culled. I would like to get a local resource, or at least a network, to help prevent any future problems. I am open to learning as much as I can to keep our flock healthy. I would love to be NPIP certified, and do more than just raise chickens.
We have a 2 year old residential electrical contracting business, Bluefin Electric, LLC. I am a practicing dental hygienist who has been at it 23+ years and ready to get our electrical business built up, so that I can work at just Bluefin Electric. It's been a challenge to do both & actively be a part of the step kids lives.
