Soy-free layer feed

So.. .. even if a person is allergic or sensitive to soy, wheat, crickets, mice or whatever a chicken eats, an egg is an egg is an egg, is that what yer tellin' me? So it doesn't matter what the chicken eats or what I'm allergic to, I can still eat the egg? No harm, no, er, fowl? Gee that's great, thanks!

Edited typo.

EXACTLY... Do you get Itchy if you Shake Hands or Hug another person than eats Soy, Gluten, Peanut Butter, Mice or anything You are allergic to? I highly doubt it! Now IF you are allergic to Peanut Butter, and you shake a hand of someone who just ate a PBJ and did not Wash Up...That's a different situation! You are contacting the Actual Allergen in the Peanut Butter. The Peanut Protein itself. You will react then. NO KISSING that guy/girl either!!!!
I have a friend, Matt, that is allergic to Poison Ivy. If a neighbor down the block is burning wood or weeds that contain Poison Ivy, and the Wind blows the Smoke Matt's way, HE will break out just as if he handled Poison Ivy himself! Matt carries an Epipen because Breathing the Poison Ivy Smoke can Kill him. But Matt loves Goat Cheese and Poison Ivy is Goat Crack! They will strip a field of it. Matt can eat all the Goat Cheese he wants. The allergen is not transferred to the Milk or the Meat. Same with Eggs...JJ

BTW...Allergies and avoiding getting Customers sick, was one of the subjects I taught and Practiced... Can't have a Kid eat your food and get Sick! Especially when you are a Chef at the local Country Club and the boys Dad is the most successful LAWYER in town! True story! Young William had multiple food allergies. Of the entire staff, William liked my cooking the best and Mom and Dad trusted me to keep their Boy safe...

Thanks for the answers. I don't eat soy or wheat and I wondered if they were as bad for my girls as they are for humans.

There is Nothing inherently BAD with Soy or Wheat. Wheat has and is a grain that has fed man since the dawn of Agriculture. Ancient Man first tasted the Seed of a type of Grass and found it was good. That ancient Wheat was planted, grown and desirable seeds were kept. Add in cross pollination, to get better growth, bigger seeds and more of them per plant, the first Genetically Modified Organism, that Wheat is what we grow and eat now.
Soy Beans underwent a similar process in Asia. BILLIONS of people have eaten Wheat and Soy for THOUSANDS of years! Celiac Disease is only a few Decades old! Where did it come from? We don't really know. We DO know it is NOT CAUSED by eating Wheat, Celiac Disease is what we call a tiny percentage of peoples Reaction to eating Wheat.
As I mentioned above, Genetically Modified Foods are also Thousands of Years Old. Every time plants were Cross pollinated or Grafted together to get a new version with the best qualities of the parent plants. The is Genetically Modified! The difference now in Scientists can now do, on a molecular level, that which gives Immediate Results rather than spending Years of Trial and Error. GMO Soy Beans do not cause anything Bad to happen to people that are not sensitive to it. A whole lot of what you hear or read about GMO is hyped up Sensationalized News. RUMORS of Evil Scientists, splicing together animal and vegetable genes to get, I don’t know, Soy Beans that fall off the Vine and WALK into the Mill for processing!
Monsanto has financed many types of GMO's mostly to be unaffected by Roundup Weed Killer. What effect do these foods have on man? None in the short term. It's what happens years from now that have folks worried. There is still Non-GMO Soy available. Just be prepared to pay a premium...JJ

I would ask your friend, has she tested the soy eggs thing? My mom has celiac (her immune system attacks her body if she eats gluten), and she has to eat only grass-fed beef, because beef that was fed wheat will make her sick. She's tested it, and other people with celiac sometimes can't eat grain-fed meat as well. She's fine with eggs, but I wouldn't completely discount that allergen-fed eggs could be an issue.

I don't doubt that if Mom " Knowingly " eats Grain Fed Beef, she will feel ill...But...There have been countless studies by the Fed, Celiac Societies and Universities, to see if Gluten passes from the Stomach of Beef animals to the Meat. For reasons I previously described...IT CAN'T, IT WON'T, IT NEVER WILL!
(Not yelling...emphasizing. :))
But Hey, don't trust me...

From BestFoodFacts.Org

Do you ever wonder about the connection between gluten intolerance and grain fed meat? You’re not alone. We received a reader question regarding how meat from livestock that are fed grain affects people who have a gluten allergy. We ran the question by Dr. Ruth MacDonald, Chair and Professor of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Iowa State University.

Are people with Celiac disease (a gluten intolerance) at risk when they consume grain-fed meat?
Dr. MacDonald:

The simple answer is no. The animal converts food proteins into animal proteins by breaking down their structure during digestion (amino acids are separated and then repackaged during metabolism). Therefore, the meat will never contain any consumed proteins in their intact form. Meat, regardless of what the animal is fed, will not contain any gluten. The only way gluten could be in the meat is if the meat has been processed using fillers or if breading or some other type of preparation is done that adds a product containing gluten. But meat, by itself, is always gluten-free.

And MANY more studies reporting the same.
It is Anecdotal Stories like, " My Uncle's, Brother's, Best Friend, Knows somebody who..." that has perpetuated countless Food Myths with Warnings that eating ________. Will make you sick!

I mean no Offense to You or Your Mother but....

You CAN'T feed ANY Animal, Bananas and Ice Cream, and get Meat that tastes like a BANANA SPLIT!
I'm really sorry, Facts speak for themselves...JJ

I have a friend that told me she will buy all of the eggs we can produce but she says that I have to feed them soy-free feed because she is allergic to soy products.
Does your friend eat store bought eggs, or restaurant dishes with egg in them. If so, the odds are extremely high that she's eaten egg from chickens that have been fed soy. Soy is a cheap source of protein and commercial chicken farms pretty much go with what is most cost effective. Same with restaurants and bakeries, very few if any use pasture raised, soy free fed eggs. Even if organic. If so, she should be fine with your eggs, regardless of what you feed.

The problem with Soy is Fido estrogen ‘s. They are hormones that act on your body like estrogen. Supposedly they do survive The transformation into eggs. They are not supposed to be good for anyone, but some people are highly allergic to them. Know of a duck farmer who used a soy free feed and had many customers who could not eat anybody’s eggs except his. He cut his flock back by 75% the producer who took his birds over stop using the soy free feed after two months and customers got sick. Fermentation is supposed to Destroy the Fido estrogen ‘s, which is why soy sauce does not harm most people.
