Soy-Free Poultry Feed

I couldn't find a corn free feed in my area but my reasons for staying away from corn were the GMO corn and the fact that corn makes ducks fatter faster and since I don't eat my ducks I don't need fat ducks. But my alternative feed is GMO free and Soy Free so I'm ok with the corn.

Well for starters, if you have white ducks, they won't turn yellow Just take my little butter-glob Wobbles as inspiration, LOL! Also, corn has a lot of natural sugars, so if your ducks eat a lot of it they can develop a weight problem or even fatty liver disease over time. It's not really an issue if your ducks forage, but if they're in a pen all day or are house ducks like mine and they only have access to their feed, it's definitely a concern.

The soy free thing makes me even happier, though. I've never heard of this brand before Amiga, thanks for cluing me in!

That is interesting... I know All Flock has corn in it (I can see little bits of it). Of course they also eat goldfish, meal worms, tons of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, watermelon and all the insects they can forage on a regular basis (brats!). Plus they get the occasional "unusual" treat - intentionally or unintentionally - when I am in the back yard and eat something like an apple, I will usually share a bite if they come over and want some. Rhiannon likes apples. A couple days ago, Pocahontas snuck up on me and had a drink out of my Pepsi

Looks like she survived, but I will be much more cautious around my drinks!

Anyway, my mileage varies when it comes to white in my ducks: Tevye's new feathers are always butter colored and they bleach in the sun so he ends up white on top and buttery on the bottom. Snow's feathers always came in WHITE - blinding white - hard to take a picture of WHITE. And Entie/Greta/Roxette/and now Noir's white patches are softer white - like a marshmallow - really white, just not the blinding white that Snow's were.

I'm feeding scratch and peck naturally free grower. They also have naturally free broiler, layer and starter.

My feathered piggies (I mean ducks) love it.
