so I've been calling around and a local mill has a soybean, meal and ground corn mixture they sale for $13.50 per 100#. That sounds pretty good, is it okay to feed our meat birds? Oh, they are to arrive Monday, do I need to wait a few weeks or can I start them on this? Thanks

If you can't find fish meal or worry about the mercury content of fish meal you can add calf manna up to 5% of total feed given.

Ex: 1 pound of calf manna to 20 pounds starter

This also makes the meat taste sweeter due to the anise content.

If you have meat rabbits they love calf manna, but due to the low fiber content no more than 2 tablespoon per 6 week and older rabbits, 1 tablespoon per rabbit 4 to 6 weeks old.

It increases weight gain in poultry, rabbits, goats, sheep…by 10-15%.

In my opinion, the other stuff is unneccesary. Yes, that's fine for your birds, just be sure as to the protein content. With those ingredients, a mill could make any number of different mixes, some of which aren't really suited for broilers.
