Space and paIring ratios for Texas A&M

What are the Space and paIring ratios for Texas A&M Quail?
I have some cages that are 5 ft. x 2ft. Left from rasing rabbits. These are what I want to put breeding groups in. Then I would use some smaller cages to raise young in.
Basically backwards from what they were used for in rabbit raising.
Those cages are 2 ft. x 2FT. and 2 ft. x 32 inches.

I am trying to get a idea how many groups I can have and how often I can incubate how many eggs.

This was taken directly from a docuement written by Dr. Fred Thornberry, the man behind the Texas A&M quail project: Recommended maximum floor space of six chicks per square foot the first two weeks, four per square foot for weeks two through six, and three per square foot after six weeks.
I've read on this forum that some keep 6 - 8 birds per square foot, maximum; others swear by 1 bird per square foot.
I built 2 cages that are 24" x 36", and have no intentions of keeping more than 5 quail per cage. I figured that with the watererer and the feeder, that takes up space too. ​

I see videos on you tube where they have them shoulder to shoulder. Reminds me of a planet on Star Trek where they were trying to get sick so they would die and not be so crowded.

I saw those videos. They are not a representation on how quail should be kept.
