Space question

That’s depending on the size of hens , some are bigger then others , and in my
Climate they have more space because I live in Canada ⛄
I live in Texas so my birds are never cooped during the day so we don't need more than 4 per bird. It really just depends what your climate is like.

I live in Las Vegas where it gets super hot. We looked up heat hardy birds. We are looking at Easter eggers, welsummers and golden buffs

My EE's do very well even in our 103+ weather as well as our production reds.
Also I've heard that Leghorns do well in heat.

Will you guys stop bragging about your hot climates :), I looked up breeds who have small combs and waddles and are cold tolerant .

I actually love winter and snow, lived in Kentucky for 2 years and almost got depressed at Christmas time

Since you're in a hot climate ventilation and shade are key. You may want to consider an open style coop that's more wire mesh than solid walls, with a solid roof to ward off some of the sun.
