hello everyone. I’m sure those topics has been discused to death, but i just wanted confirmation from people with experience. My wife and i have decided to build a chicken coop/run and would like to have about 6 chickens. My question is. Would a 12x10 run be enough for the chickens to live in?I do not think we would be able to let them roam else where. Thanks in advance for the help

Hi! Welcome to BYC!

What is your general location? Your climate is a big factor in answering your questions. For example: if you have long, snowy winters you'd do well to build a bigger coop to plan for the days when your chickens might not want to go out into the run.

You can add your general location to your profile - here's a pic one member made to show you how:

And if you haven't already seen this article, it's a very good read! https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/how-much-room-do-chickens-need.66180/

That’s depending on the size of hens , some are bigger then others , and in my
Climate they have more space because I live in Canada ⛄

That's why I said "Rule of thumb". No undermining anyone else's opinion just saying the general rules to go by bc it's a great jumping off point. But you're right ;more space is always better though. :)
