Hi, I'm Kit from Ontario Canada I am 73 years young and have had chickens for about 2 years, my daughter and son in law got some meat chickens and of course I found 3 favorites so when they were being shipped I asked if I could keep them. Well didn't they start laying eggs, Unfortunately something got two of the girls and so I just had one injured chicken to raise. purchased 6 Rhode Island Reds and have enjoyed raising them so much. Now I have taken in 4 other hens two of which are Nesters which I found out from asking questions here. I love my girls they are friendly and love to be cuddled. Looking forward to reading all the great articles.

Glad you could join the flock! You have a lovely mixed flock there. Sorry to hear you lost two of your girls, it's always very sad when flock members are lost. Lovely to hear your girls are friendly and enjoy cuddles. Mine are like that too and it really adds to the whole chicken experience when they are friendly.

It's never easy to lose animals! Congrats on your RIRs though! I love to cuddle and spend time with my flock as well. Friendly chickens are the best!
