Spacing between roost bars...

one flies up to my shoulder and walks around with me like a pirate chicken.

What breed does that? Don't get me wrong I have a couple red sex links that get right next to my head when cleaning or doing something on the coop but that's by standing on something next to what I am working on. Kinda to close if you ask me afraid of getting my eyes pecked. I think if I were to walk around with a chicken on my shoulder my wife would divorce me. She hates chickens. I can only picture the day when I walk out the coop with a chicken onboard and she sees me..
Now you got me thinking. :gig

We have a work bench in our garage. My pet bird Gladys flies onto the bench and when she is ready to get off she flies to the doorway and lands on a cocoa mat, which is several feet away. In her coop, she does have a ramp she uses to go up and get down.

Right?! I think the only reasons my chooks jump on my shoulder are:

A) because I'm the tallest acessible thing
B) because they wanna peck at my shiny, shiny glasses

My hubby isn't fond of my birds except Gladys.

Yes, I breed the Reese line of Single Comb Rhode Island Reds
and Robert Anderson's Rose Comb Rhode Island Reds. I do not mix lines so they are both pure.
Very nice, I have no idea what the difference is in the 2 but have always liked the darker color of the RIR compared to the red sex links I currently have. I don't want to highjack this tread so I'll message you in a different tread you started about RIR.
Thanks
