made the simply nuts today.

My 6-week olds still just go cheep cheep chirp. But when I put that leftover squash in there today, one of them gurgled off a "big chick squawk" that was the first I heard from the flock. I think she was saying thank you.

Mine love it too.....its like clean and healthy worms. They'll get a long strand and run like its a juicy worm

I find if I break the squash and zuccinni in half, they do even a better job eating them. Of course, the pigs have them down in one bite most the time before the chickens even see them coming.

Oh man... Have I mentioned the cheese grits that they serve in the B&B that used to be an orphanage in New Orleans? I've got a serious hankering for some grits NOW!

Only way we get grits here (northern California, 1 hour south of Oregon) is in a box of over-chemicalized and pre-processed frankenfood, or if ya married a good cook and ya ask real nice. If she was a southerner that would help. But you won't find it on a menu anywhere nearby.

I'm gonna have to ask real nice, because I'm not so worried about feeding the chicks... I want dem grits for myself!

I'll see how they do with rice.

Hey Scrambled Egg, haven't heard from you lately. That was terrible about that teenager that's been missing. For those on the board that don't live in NC, a teen girl had been missing since Jan 05, they found her remains on Fort Bragg. I know that the parents have to be just beside themselves with grief, but at least they now know where she is, and not have to wonder any more. I just can't imagine what they must have gone through. Parents pray for the safety of your children every day, that they will taken care of when the leave your homes.
