I have a few silkies that are between 4-5 months old and I know a few are definitely roos but I believe some to be pullets. When I turn them out to free range they do their normal wahoo I'm free rutine and start goin crazy but all of them jump at each other, flare up their neck or hackle feathers and spar for just a few seconds. I seriously think some are pullets but I don't know yet to hard on these guys to tell. I know chicks will spar each other of both sexes, but at 4-5 months? Is this a definite sign of cockerals? I understand pecking order and dominate hen and pecking and an occasional fight but sparring all the time makes me believe roos although they don't all look like it. Can anyone give me some help or experience on what there chicks turned out to be that spar at this age? Thank you!!!!

I have hens that will fight! Some are a couple years old! Usually the longer fights are between cockerals...

Thanks for the reply! Also, when I pick them up they make a squacking noise I feel is cockeralish haha. Can anyone type on a computer the difference between a pullet and cockeral squack when picked up or are they very close besides crowing is the obvious difference
