See the embroidery machine. That's just like but totally different then the kind I ran. Each little arm thing is a different color. When it changes colors and before moves to the next arm a little hook pops down and cuts the thread of the color it was using. You need it to or it knots up when the next color starts.
If it didn't cut it I'd reach down and use my finger to pull it and break it. That's much faster then stopping the machine.
Sometimes I wasn't fast enough to get my finger out of the way before it start sewing again.
Hence ya I spoke from experience that day.
