@Noraaaaa what actually happens when youre showing chickens lol. Do they get judged or something?
Yeah! So I bring them in cages then I clean them (wash, clip toes, beak, put on shine stuff etc…) then I put on a white shirt and go to the judge. They look at how close they r to standers of perfection. some shows (like Ohio nationals) just get your bird out of the cadge and judge without you. For showmanship you just bring up you chicken and show wings and then awnser questions (like what’s grit, where’s the oil gland, what are 5 types of combs…) and that’s it!

ts super fun but it’s definitely hard! I sell and buy at least 20 chickens a year and sometimes I have to euthanize roosters. I breed good chickens to good chickens, have 3 coops and work them a lot as well (hold, cage them…). Silkies are the hardest breed to show for me bc they have feathered feet (feathers shouldent be broken!!!) and 75-80% of chicks I’ve breed r Roos.

That does sound hard work! I'd get to attached to the chickens to sell them or cull roosters lol

Here’s some show photos of kind of what it’s like:
