I remember hearing about a poison that only effects mice/rats if eaten and is safe around cats and dogs

This stuff is strong. I wouldn't trust it around anything.

Metal? Rats can chew through concrete. They don't like tin foil though.

jut some old plastic ones. this lids would swing open on them so they could be pushed up

My class dissected rats last year we had to name them... One group named their Remmy.

my parents used to have a mouse problem years ago but my older brother who was a baby at the time kept eating rat poison : )
