Never tried the microwave but i froze some.

Also, I dug up the queen one time (it took me two days she was so far in there) and put her and a bunch of ant in a container i had specifically for farming ants, then gave them rice. Cooked rice they ate but uncooked they took to the nursery. I killed it a while later. They aren't fun to take care of.

I have made dead lady bugs homes! In my defence I didnt know they were dead... I thought they were just well-behaved lol

You can drown a fly then pour salt on it and it will come back to life.

No, honest.
I'm not sure it'd work if you left them underwater for hours or days but for a few minutes until they totally aren't moving dead
