So it was close to freezing last night, barely above 32 degrees and POURing rain. I looked out and the tarp that covered my chicken's run had come loose in the wind. One corner was flapping. I hurried and put on a coat, slipped on hubby's boots, and ran out in the frigid tundra to save my freezing, beloved chickens.

Beloved, but definitely not freezing...

They were showering. I stood there, dumbstruck, to watch them take turns standing in the run-off and then going under the tarp to shake off their wet feathers, only to return to the line to do it all again. Showering chickens in 34 degree rain??? I thought they'd be freezing to death, not showering!?! Geeeeesh. :lau
