Can a Jersey Giant fit into a 12x12x12 nesting box? Is there anything that they might need in the coop?(like how a Phoenix needs high perches)

They usually recomened a lower perch 2' for giants and a bigger nest box. With out really knowing for sure I would say 18 by 18 inches. There is a giant thred here with people on it that know a lot more then I do.

That is a standard size nestbox, so I would go a bit larger for a jersey giant...maybe 14" square. The largest box I have seen in the forum was 16" square! WOW!!

Wonder what bird that was for? I have heard that the hen should be able to turn around comfortably in the nest. Hope that helps, and Good Luck!!

Okay, I'll check out the giant thread. I'm thinking a 1.5ft perch.

I would do 16x16" nestboxes. I have standard hens (EE's) and they love my big nest boxes, I made mine 16x16" and they will all pile into one or two nest boxes.

I was thinking 18" , but if I can get away with 16"....

16"x16" is pretty big...

2 of my "standard" size hens can and will lay at the same time, and I've had more than 2 in one box at one time.
