Want to rehome a handicapped Brahma hen. We got her off of Nextdoor 2 years ago. She was attacked by a coyote & 1/2 dead in the road. She’s mostly blind she sees light & she needs more vet care than we can give. She’s lived in a kennel indoors, but my son came down with epilepsy a few months ago & we just don’t have the time we used to. She often gets eye infections that we treat with over the counter medication which I’m willing to provide what we have but she’s a nice girl we’ve never been able to integrate her into any of our flocks successfully she really just needs a good home that’s patient. I know there’s like a 1% chance we’ll be able to rehome her. She will lay eggs sometimes. She’s a trooper & could get along with a small flock if you’re willing to take the time to work with her. She just has a hard time trusting but she does warm up if you just give her a chance. She deserves a chance at a bigger life than we can provide her. She’s only about 2.5 years old. Ms Helen really needs a more attentive environment

Kudos to you for taking care of Ms Helen and trying to find a new home for her.

I am not in a position to take any more chickens right now and had to turn down someone Friday who wanted me to take one of her hens who is recovering from an attack.

I would suggest editing your post to let people know where you are located; maybe someone close by would be willing to take her?

Best wishes for your girl, and take care of yourself. Caring for your son and trying to do right by Ms Helen must be incredibly stressful. :hugs

Where are you located? I'm in north central FL. I'll take her if it's possible to get her.
