I have six hens of different breeds; two Easter Eggers that I know lay blue eggs, a Rhode Island Red that lays a plain brown egg but I can't figure out what color the other three lay. I have a Welsummer, a Silver Laced Wyandotte and a Black Australorp. One of them is laying light brown eggs with a little bit of speckles. I have been trying to research on line but so far, what I've read tells me any of them can lay speckled. Any ideas? I'm leaning toward the Welsummer though I've never actually seen her lay.

I have never had a RIR before but my Silver Laced Wyandotte did lay brown eggs with dark brown speckles. One way you can find out who is laying which egg is to catch them while they are laying the eggs, I find that my hens lay eggs mostly in the early morning.
