I posted in the Baby Chicks section asking why she doesn't have a tail yet. It was brought up that it is common for roosters to not have a tail for awhile.....so.....is my supposed-to-be pullet a rooster? This was taken today at 6-7 weeks old. She is the smallest, scrawniest, and still very chick-a-saurus in comparison to the other 7 hens. Is she even a speckled sussex afterall???

These were taken a couple weeks ago when she was looking RIDICULOUS(ly cute) in her awkward stage...

Here are some more random pictures....

As a wee baby, less than two weeks old, she is on the left:

2-3 weeks old:

By the way, she doesn't have that upright stance when she is relaxed and being herself....she seems to "pose" when I take her picture. I will bring out the camera, and she will run and stand up like that. LOL

She looked just like the ones I've seen online as a wee chick, just the last couple of weeks when her feathers started coming out have I been questioning. What could she be?
doesnt look like a ss

That's a speckled Sussex or a mix. They don't get their molted spots until 8 months of age. They have pink legs and single comb. So far yours looks like a pullet by looking at the comb.

Here's my maple.

Well it's not a sussex. They have white skin and pink legs, your bird's are yellow. The coloring is off, too. The white on the chest is similar but not enough. She may be part, or? Where did you get her from?

What color are her legs? If they are pink or white, she's a pure Sussex. If they are yellow, I bet money she's a Sussex mix.

These are my SS girls when I got them at about 6-7 weeks old. I don't remember for sure. It was a few years ago. I hope this helps you to compare.
