speckled sussex or imposter?

I recently purchased a pair of speckled sussex ( I think). They have white legs, straight combs, and look the part. I was noticing that their size looks a little off, they resemble big game chickens. Should I keep them and see what I get or should I look elsewhere?

I have found it very difficult to find excellent quality SS in the US. Where did you obtain your birds?

Young birds take some time to fill out. Do you know their age?

I'll try to post a pic this afternoon. They are supposed to be around a year old. I think my friend got them for me from a chicken sale.
