This is a speckled sussex we got from Meyer hatchery 10 weeks ago. I’ve had no indication she was a boy (we ordered a pullet) but those feathers look a little pointy in the close up pics. Her comb and wattles are the same size as her sisters though. Thoughts?

Leaning Roo on this one, both of my SS coloring at this age was very defined and those feathers you mentioned ours never had at this age. Our girls did produce large red combs and wattles early on and began laying at 16 weeks, so in a month you probably will know 100%. Let us know how he/she looks in few weeks.

Pullet - guaranteed.

You aren't good to see any male specific feathering for another 4 weeks or so. SS pullets will get a lot of the iridescent feathering early. Attached is a picture of one of our breeding pairs at about the same age.

Aside from the obviously lack of comb development, You'd also see some sort of wattle development by now as well.

This chicken will lay eggs 😉
