Okay, so the week after Thanksgiving, I went out with my parents and bought six new chicks from Rural King, three Brahma and three Speckled Sussex. I'm worried because one of the Sussex looks like it might be a cockerel. They chicks are roughly 7 and a half weeks old. I'm worried and concerned because the Sussex has a larger comb and some slightly different coloring, but I have a Blue Copper Maran rooster, and he acted very differently at about the same age. He'd be a little more pushy with the girls, and he'd give me and my dad 'the eye' when we came to take care of them. The Sussex doesn't do either of these, and generally acts the same way the girls do. But the larger comb concerns me because I don't want to have two roosters start fighting and killing each other when we finally let the chicks start living with the rest of the flock in the coop.
