Speckled Sussex

We have three six-week-old Speckled Sussex. One has no tail feathers! I’ll upload photos. Someone suggested she might be roo. Thoughts?

Looks like a roo to me. Kind of hard to tell though, might just be a big comb for a pullet. It's not very pink.

EDIT: Nah, after looking at some other SS cockerels I'm thinking more pullet... the comb just isn't pink enough.

I don't know, I'm leaning more towards pullet so far. Can you post more pictures in about two weeks? If it's a cockerel it'll be more obvious by then.

Thanks! I’m pretty partial to her. She is smaller than the others and no sign of tail feathers. Any idea why?

Are you positive of her age? She possibly could be just a bit younger than the others. Or she could be just slower to develop. It happens sometimes.

I am positive. We got them as day old chicks. She hatched March 11th.

If she's only a little bit behind the rest I don't think I would worry too much yet. As long as the others are letting her eat and drink plenty, I would give her a bit more time to catch up
