Speckled Sussex

I was reading about the temperament and history of the speckled Sussex, and the one aspect of the description was that they are not too tolerant of the heat. If the bird was raised in Florida, would it be more tolerant of the heat?

I have a speckled sussex and I live in Florida. She doesn't really mind the heat.
