I have about a dozen Egyptian Fayoumi chicks that are about 6 weeks old. One of them spins. It chirps alot like maybe it's in distress and when I go feed or water she starts spinning in really fast circles. Sometimes she falls down and spins on her head.
First I thought she was injured but her neck doesnt appear to be swollen or anything. They were moved from their brooder box to the big kid pen about a week ago. The brooder box has a top vent with wire covering it so flies could get it. Well with the waterer and the feed etc they managed to create some maggots. Someone told me to not let my chicks eat the maggots or it would kill them. Is that true you think? Could my chick have a maggot stuck in it's throat from over a week ago? That sounds like an old wives tale to me but something is wrong with it. Once she stops spinning and stands back up she walks nearly as good as the rest of them. She is as big as they are so she's eating and drinking. Has anyone had a chick do this?
